Grecian Trilogy 3 The Combat Of Athena & Enkyladus

In this episode we recount a tale according to Caliope, the Muse of epic poetry and music, taken from the great Gigantomachy, the cosmic war between Zeus and the gods of Olympus and the Gigas, the giants who were sons of Gaia, goddess of the Earth. Gaia dares to resist being controlled by Olympus so Zeus orders Athena to form ranks of warriors and quell this rebellion. A great battle is fought on the plain of Megalopolis, with many casualties on both sides. Athena, disgusted with the stubbornness which brought about this bloody war, seeks out the last of the Gigas, Enkyladus and challenges him in a fight to the death to bring this trial to an end. However, the mighty warrior goddess comes to know compassion for her foe and his mother, for whom Enkyladus is her only surviving offspring. A three sided island named Sicilia will come into being in a rather strange manner as a result of Athena's victory.
